# Building QRmo: Simplifying Storefronts for Small Businesses
Launching a digital storefront shouldn't be harder than running the business itself. That’s the core belief behind **QRmo**, a lightweight web app designed to help local vendors, mom-and-pop shops, and event sellers get online with nothing more than a QR code.
## The Problem
Too many platforms are built for medium-sized businesses with time and tech expertise. But what about the weekend food stall in LA? Or the streetwear vendor at a local Manila Sound pop-up in SFO?
Most of them:
- Don’t have time to learn Shopify or SquareSpace
- Just want to share their menu or product list
- Need something fast, that works, and looks professional
## Our Approach
QRmo is built with **simplicity** and **speed** in mind. No fluff, no 15-step setup, no code. Just:
1. Create an account
2. Add your store name and logo
3. Upload a few products or a menu
4. Get a custom QR code
5. Print it or post it — you’re done.
Visitors scan and see a clean, mobile-ready page with your offerings.
## What Makes QRmo Different
While most “link in bio” tools offer basic navigation, QRmo is tailored for **commerce-first storytelling**.
| Feature | Others | QRmo |
|--------------------|--------------|--------------------|
| Link-style pages | ✅ | ✅ |
| Menu/Product flow | ❌ | ✅ |
| Local-first focus | ❌ | ✅ |
| QR onboarding | ❌ | ✅ |
| Business in bio | ❌ | ✅ |
## Behind the Build
We’re using:
- **Supabase** with row-level security for multi-tenant data control
- **Sanity** for CMS-powered blogs like this
- **Next.js + Tailwind** for frontend
- **Stripe** integration (coming soon)
No frills. Just a working loop.
## Why We’re Blogging Early
Even before QRmo hits its final form, we’re writing posts like this to:
- Lay down our product thesis
- Index early on Google for future discovery
- Build a record of progress — win or fail
This content helps future users, investors, and collaborators understand where we're coming from.
## The Vision
We’re not trying to build the next Amazon. We’re just building a **clean, functional storefront** system that’s as fast to set up as it is to scan.
Whether it’s a coffee stand in LA or a merch table in Daly City, QRmo should let you run your “storefront in a link” without friction.
## What’s Next
- Ship a public MVP (even if clunky)
- Add Stripe payments and reviews
- Localize for LA, SFO, PH vendors
- Keep building in public
